JEERAGA SAMBA RICE

Description

Jeeraga rice derives its name due to the small white ovular fine grains resemble seeds of Jeera/Cumin/Jeeragam and it is mostly cultivated in the Samba season (August to January).This variety is a long duration traditional aromatic variety grown in tamil nadu. The grains are much smaller than other varieties and when cooked is less ‘fluffy’ and loose in texture with a starchy/corny flavor.
Traditionally this rice is used in the preparation of biryani and Lemon rice, Tamarind rice, Tomato rice, etc.
